Peg's Custom Teardrop
      Construction Continues, Bulkheads and Cabinets!!

I framed the rear galley bulkhead in pine. I glued the framing to a piece of Cherry that was left from the interior skins.
Later, I'll add foam insulation and another skin.

Here, I have the second skin in place.
The panel will weigh a lot less than the same size piece of solid ply, with the benefit of being insulated.

Since the lower strip of wood which covers the frame will get wet, I covered it with a couple of coats of epoxy.
This will keep the wood from being damaged by moisture.

A shot of the lower galley bulkhead and the galley upper cabinet frame.

Here is one of the cabin cabinet frames. There will be two bins, on left, and a flip-down door for access to the galley from inside the cabin. Great for midnight snacking!
Sorry, the shot shows the frame with the bottom on the left!
OOPS!

The joints were assembled with a combination of dowels, biscuit plates, and screws.
I used screws wherever they would be hidden, dowels and plates for exposed areas.
