Peg's Custom Teardrop
      Construction Continues...Building the floor!!

I laid out the floor framing on a sheet of 3/8" ply. I glued the framing to the ply, using screws as clamps. I'll remove the screws when I add the insulation, later.

I added extra blocking to the places where the floor gets bolted to the frame.

I glued 3/4" foam insulation in the spaces between framing.
This will add strength, as well as, help to keep Peg's bed toasty-warm!

I'll glue the road-side ply, a sheet of 1/4 ply, to the insulated framing. I'll use weather-proof deck screws for this.

I sealed the road-side of the floor in a couple of coats of epoxy. I'll paint this as a final protective measure.
The ply protects the insulation, the epoxy protects the ply, the paint protects the epoxy...It's very weather proof!

Here I have the road-side painted with two coats of black Rustoleum.
When the paint has hardened. I'll flip it over and bolt it to the frame.

Here, I have the floor bolted to the frame. I used 1/2" stainless steel bolts and ny-loc nuts.
I sealed the floor in epoxy as a prep for paint or varnish, later.

Because the bolts will be in-accessable later, I filled around the heads with a schmutz of epoxy and sawdust. This will allow the nuts to be removed, or tightened without access to the head of the bolt.

Rather than vinyl or paint, Peg wanted the galley floor covered with aluminum. I bent an edge on a piece of the sheet that will cover the roof. The rest of the edges will be under the walls and galley bulkhead.
